Neurological Pilates

Private Pilates sessions for neurological patients are ideal for those with complex needs requiring specialist physiotherapy knowledge. The low impact matwork style of Pilates exercises is perfect for those who suffer with reduced muscle tone and strength. Pilates can be useful for those people with neurological conditions such as brain/spinal cord injury, stroke, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's.

What to Expect

In your neurological Pilates private session, you can expect to be assessed by your Pilates instructor who is specially trained in neurological physiotherapy. The assessment will identify any areas of weakness, increased/decreased muscle tone, range of movement and overall posture to ensure a Pilates programme can be designed individually for you.

Your unique Pilates programme will begin following your assessment. You will learn how to gain optimum postural alignment and how to engage your deep core muscles. You will also learn specific movement and stretching exercises to reach your maximum functional capacity.
